Good morning, my friends ––

Pour yourself a cup of coffee, settle into your favorite chair, and let’s spend a few quiet moments together.

Every day, we carry a little something forward from yesterday.

Sometimes it’s a worry we should have left behind. Sometimes it’s a wonderful memory we hope never to lose. And sometimes it’s something another person gave us without even realizing it—a kind word, a little encouragement, or simply the feeling that somebody cared.

We carry those things with us.

That’s worth remembering today because you may be the person who gives someone else something good to carry into tomorrow.

A smile costs nothing. Neither does listening for another minute when someone needs to talk. A few words of encouragement may seem small when we offer them, but to the person receiving them, they might be exactly what was needed.

So while you’re finishing your coffee this morning, think about what you’d like to leave behind when today is over.

Leave a little kindness.

Leave someone smiling.

Leave somebody feeling a little better because your paths happened to cross.

We don’t always get to choose what tomorrow brings, but we can choose what goodness we send ahead to meet it.

Until tomorrow, may your coffee stay warm, your memories stay close, and your hope stay strong. The coffee will be waiting again tomorrow, and I hope you’ll be here to share it with me.

The Coffee Pot Carries More Than Coffee

The old coffee pot had learned something after all these years.

People rarely gathered around it because they needed coffee.

They gathered because they needed each other.

Morning after morning, the familiar aroma drifted through the house, inviting everyone to slow down for just a little while. Before the first sip was taken, there were stories waiting to be told, questions waiting to be asked, and worries waiting to be shared.

The Coffee Pot Remembers — **As you cradle your cup of coffee, remember that life is built more by ordinary mornings than extraordinary moments.**

The coffee pot listened to them all.

It heard fathers wondering how they would provide for their families.

It heard mothers quietly carrying burdens they never wanted their children to see.

It heard young couples dreaming about homes they hoped to build, and grandparents smiling as they watched another generation begin its journey.

The coffee pot offered no advice.

It couldn’t solve a single problem.

But it noticed something remarkable.

When people gathered around the table with warm cups in their hands, life somehow became a little easier to carry.

Troubles didn’t disappear.

They simply became lighter because they were shared.

Over the years, the coffee pot witnessed tears that no one expected, laughter that filled the kitchen until everyone forgot what had been troubling them, and prayers whispered before the day began.

It watched empty chairs become full again with new faces, and full tables slowly grow quieter as time moved on.

The old coffee pot came to understand that its greatest purpose had never been making coffee.

Its purpose was creating a place where people felt welcome enough to stay.

Maybe that’s why coffee has always tasted a little better when someone else is sitting across the table.

It isn’t the coffee that warms us the most.

It’s the company.

Tomorrow morning, before you hurry off to whatever the day has planned, linger just a little longer.

Someone may need your conversation more than they need another cup of coffee.

Sometimes the greatest gift we can offer another person is simply our presence.

And the old coffee pot has known that all along.
